Privacy Policy

• Account details — your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• What you log — the tastings you create: wines, ratings, notes, WSET assessments, prices, locations, companion names you add, and photos of wine labels or menus you upload.
• AI inputs — the photos and text you submit for label/menu reading and for palate insights and recommendations.
• Usage analytics— privacy-friendly, cookieless aggregate metrics (page views, referrers, approximate region, device type) via Vercel Web Analytics. We don’t build advertising profiles or track you across other sites.
• Diagnostics — standard server logs and error reports (via Sentry) to keep the app working, configured not to include your email or precise identity.

• To provide the core features — logging tastings, building your palate profile, and generating insights and recommendations.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
• To send you essential account messages, such as email confirmation and password resets.

To run Cork Compass we rely on a small set of trusted providers, and share data with them only as needed to operate the service:

• Anthropic (Claude)— the wine label/menu photos and tasting text you submit are sent to Anthropic’s API to extract details and generate insights. This is subject to Anthropic’s terms; your inputs are not used by us to train AI models.
• Supabase — database, authentication, and private photo storage.
• Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Sentry — error monitoring.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above to operate Cork Compass, or where required by law or to protect our rights.

Your data is stored on Supabase in the United States. Photos live in a private storage bucket protected by per-user access rules, so only you can view your own uploads. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.

• We keep your data while your account is active.
• You can view and edit your tastings at any time in the app.
• You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@wineapp.cc.

Cork Compass is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their location. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal drinking age.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the effective date above, and communicate significant changes where appropriate.
